Gallivan Retreat

Once a year, students are invited to participate in a weekend-long retreat at Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, South Carolina (near Charleston).  This small group of students, and participating faculty and staff, immerse themselves in the contemplative life of monastic community.  Students of all traditions are welcome to participate in various practices while on retreat, including extended silence and spiritual direction.  Mepkin Abbey provides a beautiful natural space, deep tradition, and plenty of resources for students on retreat.

Due to limited space, students are encouraged to register for this event early each year.  This year’s retreat to Mepkin Abbey is February 13-16, 2015.  To register, e-mail rolyn.rollins@furman.edu.  To get more information, visit the Mepkin Abbey website or contact Eric Cain at eric.cain@furman.edu.
